The creeks are very popular, but for the ocean, it depends what you are going after. The redfish really don't care and as long as the bait is fresh it can be dead. Gulf Menhaden make good dead bait also. Most common live baits in the area appear to be shad, shrimp, coraker, mud minnows, mullet, and pinfish.
